Tiffany & Paul / Orange County Wedding

I got to help the lovely ladies of Joielala on this wedding a while back and of course enjoyed myself immensely. Tiffany and Paul are a solid pair, and not to mention easy on the eyes. Taryn and I photographed their engagement about a year ago and loved their ability to just melt into one another in front of a camera. Something that’s not easily said or done……whatever that means.

Thanks to you both for having us, it was a pleasure and a relaxing enjoyable experience for all.

This is just a sneak peek so I’m not supposed to go into great detail here but let me just say Mike and Jen are tons of fun and their engagement shoot turned out to be Amazing. BUT, what we weren’t expecting was for their three adorable kids to be absolute naturals in front of the camera!! I would say OK guys give me the Blue Steal and bang, they were instantly in character. So much fun.

Justin & Alli / Beach Wedding / La Jolla

How to begin this post?? I’ve known Justin Cote since I was in my first year of college at Cal State San Marcos. I remember sitting on a bench outside the cafeteria eating a massive burrito between classes when this guy approached me. It was clear we shared the same tastes in life by the perfectly shaded tan line running right across the middle of his neck that one can only attain by spending numerous hours in a wetsuit. “So, are you joining this surf team deal or what?” was how the conversation began. I didn’t recognize him at first and then after we got to talking I realized he was the infamous Justin Cote. Brother of Chris Cote, two of the most recklessly hilarious, absolutely talented surfers in Norther San Diego. From that moment on Justin and I remained friends. We later worked together at TransWorld Surf Magazine and shared many a wild evening.

During those very same college years a girl named Allice Dodge known to most as Alli moved in across the street from the house I was living in with 3 of my college friends. Of course there was a big stir about the house that two good looking girls were moving in right across the street. We spied on them and pretended not to take notice, and eventually made our way over to ask if they wanted to join us for an evening out. Alli is a surfing easy going girl from the east coast who was as quick witted and just as eager to have a good time as we all were, so in no time at all she fit in very well with our crowd and the rest of the people we called friends in town. Well time passed, people moved in and out of college houses and life rolled on until one day at the beach I ran into Justin and friends and he introduced me to his new girlfriend. Yep, you guessed it, none other than Alice Dodge.

I heard through the grapevine that Justin had proposed to Alli and I of course was happy for the both of them. But when they asked me to photography their wedding I was really happy! Taryn and I teamed up to shoot this one together on the sand in La Jolla and we had a blast! Thank you guys for including us on your amazing day. It’s great to see you both happy and healthy.

This is just a quick view of a wonderful wedding I was honored to photograph this weekend. Katie has been a very very good friend of mine since we were teenagers. I’m so happy you’ve married someone as amazing as Matt, your wedding was simple and perfect and I love you both. Have an amazing honeymoon!

I just downloaded a new toy called Jing. It’s a simple free way to create videos or screen captures from your computer to show other people. I heard about this company through a company I’ve been working with called Agent Shield. We were using the idea for a totally unrelated exercise when it dawned on me that this could be a really cool service to show people what goes into my post production after a wedding. This is my first little screen video attempt. I plan to make more in the very near future.
