Taryn and I made our way up to San Juan Capistrano yesterday to do our first engagement session of 2010. Pretty exciting stuff huh?? Well it was for us anyways…. It felt good to get a start on the new year before wedding season kicks into high gear for us. First things first, Shaylee and Andrew are two of the nicest easy going people anyone would ever care to meet, and were so easy to shoot and have a great time with. There natural poses and fun demeanor made everything fall right into place. Thanks guys, we had a great time with you yesterday!
When we set the date to meet and decided on a plan for their shoot, I was excited from the get go. The theme for their wedding is going to be Johnny Cash Vintage, and it’s taking place in a big red barn. So naturally anyone who has any creative blood flowing through their veins would be able to go nuts with that one! And so we did. We met in the historical district of San Juan Capistrano at the infamous Ramos House where we began phase one of the shoot. Then we moved to a little grove further north on a hillside that was just littered with beautiful green rolling hills dotted in yellow wild flowers and orange tree’s. The perfect setting for a vintage picnic and lemonade.
The set we brought with us for the picnic shoot was all designed by my wife and I have to say she did an amazing job!! She spent days in and out of antique shops and thrift stores, talking with grandmothers and family members, all to create the perfect set. Be on the lookout for more of her creations this coming month when she launches her new design and coordinating company Lucky in Love. Also a big thank you to my parents for driving down from Long Beach to meet us with a few sets of vintage luggage they managed to procure from my adopted third grandfather and next door neighbor as a kid Mr. Paul Miranda. Thanks Mom and Dad! (they’ve never failed to come through for me)

Pop Chebegia - Country-road,classy engagement photos of the happy couple are lovely, they seem so relaxed together. I love the sunset, orchard pictures, and the lemonade makes me thirsty in the mustardy environment.
