If you read anyone else’s blogs know WPPI was a huge hit as usual and so was Airhorns and Lazers! Taryn and I went to the party put on by The Flash Dance, Our Labor Of Love, Sarah Rhoads, Jose Villa, Southern Weddings, Smile Booth, and many many more and we had a great time. I have to say the Human Jukebox absolutely brought down the house. I’ve never seen that many people on a dance floor from start to finish at any party. Nicely done Jukebox. Another crazy highlight was watching his good friend SharkPig aka the Shanghai Surprise absolutely go crazy with a microphone. I’m assuming he’ll post what happened some time soon on his blog, so until then it will just have to be a surprise. If you go to his blog, Brian does 8mm films for weddings with the Flashdance and other collaborators. It’s pretty cool stuff so take a look…….Taryn and I hope to work with him soon on one of our weddings.
I did have a great time at WPPI meeting people, looking at lots of gadgets and gizmo’s, and catching up on what all is in store this year for the wedding world. But my trip ended on a bit of a sad note. I’ve officially ended a working relationship that I’ve had with good friends and mentors Jonathan and Annie Rouse over the past 4 years. The Rouses are two ridiculously talented photographers who work in the hospitality, architecture, food, and lifestyle world of commercial photography, and I used to be there productions / sales guy. If you want to see what really high level professional work looks like jump on their site and prepare to be blown away. Over the course of our relationship I was lucky enough to learn endless amounts about photography, business, and many other things that will continue to propel me forward in my own work for years to come. I don’t know if they’ll ever read my blog, but if they do I’m tipping my hat to you guys today to say thank you for everything you’ve given me and I hope to make you guys proud from here on out.
